International cooperation

Working with Professor Danielle Gallegos, Queensland University of Technology, Australia

On August 5, 2019, Prof. Danielle Gallegos, Director of International Engagement and Recruitment, one of leaders for Nutrition and Dietetics and Dr. Helen Vidgen, senior lecturer of School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Queesland University of Technology, Australia (QUT) worked with Department of Nutrition and Food of Ho Chi Minh University of Food Industry (HUFI).

Attending this meeting, there were Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Vice Director of Institute for International Cooperation and Training, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Ha, Deputy Dean of Department of Nutrition and Culinary Arts together with lecturers from Department of Nutrition and Culinary Arts. HUFI was aslo pleased to welcome Dr. Do Thi Ngoc Diep, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Nutrition Centre and doctors, lecturers from other hospitals, universites. At the meeting, the representative of HUFI introduced about HUFI and cooperation orientations with QUT in the field of training and scientific research. Prof. Danielle Gallegos then introduced about QUT and collaboration opportunities in student exchange, study and scholarship eligibility for undergraduate and graduate programs. Prof. Danielle Gallegos especially proposed the possibility of training cooperation with Nutrition science of HUFI.

The two sides agreed to discuss in details the cooperation between QUT's School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences and HUFI's Department of Nutrition and Culinary Arts in the near future. Following the meeting, Prof. Danielle Gallegos and attendee had a deep discussion on the training program of Nutrition Science running at HUFI and the difference in training between nutrition and moderation as well as the necessary knowledge in moderation training. At the end of the meeting, the representative of HUFI thanked to participants with valuable suggestions for the training program of Nutrition science.
